photograph DEMO

There is a photograph, I lie awake and trace it in my mind
And in the dark, I see the color, though the day was gray and white
I pass the place where we kissed, I see the leaves still falling down
The day my heart came tumbling in, though your was the only sound

And I know I’ll pass that place again
    And maybe you’ll be there
Me, with my heart upon my shoulder
You, with the wind in your hair

But now the wind’s behind my sails
And I pray it takes me home
For I return to face my sentence
For the once upon a time that I let go

Pencil hearts on yellow paper, worn and faded by the years
High school halls where youth romances
But they were brighter when our voices echoed here

    Summer days and winter nights
We drifted through the hazy, silver lights
Remember when  holding hands was more than enough
And love was something more than tears
    Something more than.......................

        Sometime, somewhere in the night
Face to face with her eyes
        Turn around and you’ll see
The end is near, for she’s not hear
        Was it just a dream

How many thousand miles, searching for the rest of your life
For something old or something new, everybody wants to turn back time

But now the wind’s behind my sails
And I pray it takes me home
For I return to face my sentence
For the years that I let go

And now the wind’s behind my sails
I pray it takes me home
Cause I return to face my sentence
For the once upon a time that I let go
